Parma, a duchy by bicycle
Parma is a city where using the bicycle has always been a tradition and everyone owns a bike and jealously takes care of it.
Cycling can also be the best way for tourists to get to know Parma and enjoy its atmosphere as a capital city of music and gastronomy.
Numerous cycle trails and paths are available in town and in its province.
In the so called “Lowlands” stretching from the River Po to the Via Emilia street, bicycles can be rented for a ride through the lands of Verdi and Guareschi.
On the Eastern Apennines, the competent Tourist Authority marked 900 km of mountain bike trails.
The landscape of the hills is particularly fascinating when one rides along the Baganza stream to reach the Boschi di Carrega Regional Park, which is a marvellous example of native woodland surrounding one of the summer residences of the old Court of Parma.
